She hosts the show Outnumbered, and frequently appears on the late-night program Gutfeld!. Compagno was born in Oakland's Oak Knoll Naval Hospital in Oakland California. She was raised in El Cerrito in California as the daughter of Katherine Bertsch and John Compagno. Her father is Italian. She has two siblings. Her great-grandfather William Harry Bertsch won the Silver Star during World War II. The "Rose" Emily's name, honours Bertsch. She earned an undergraduate degree. from the University of Washington, she was awarded a B.A. degree in political science.
